SHIPWRECK TALK WITH IAN WILSON - RATHLIN SOUND MARITIME FESTIVAL 2014

Three Quiet Island Graves - Three Very Dramatic Shipwrecks.

A talk by maritime historian and author Ian Wilson.

2.00pm, Tuesday 27th May 2014, St Thomas's Church, Rathlin Island. Free Admission.

Found by the Rathlin islanders and buried in the little Parish churchyard are three victims of famous shipping losses: the liner ‘Cambria’, HMS ‘Viknor’ and the converted cruise liner ‘Arandora Star’ which was carrying Italian internees and German POWs to Canada. The Atlantic tides brought the bodies to Rathlin, and by their gravestones the stories can be told.
