Rathlin is just six miles off the coast of Northern Ireland but a short ferry crossing will transport you to another world.

Join RSPB warden and islander Liam McFaul to explore the island and get a ‘hands-on’ introduction to nature conservation.

A tour of the island by jeep will kick-start this event and give you a real feel for Northern Ireland’s only inhabited offshore island.

Liam will then guide you to the perfect cliff-top spot where you’ll learn survey techniques and help record the spectacular seabirds which make their homes here, including guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and puffins.

Next will be a stop-off at the Rathlin West Light Seabird Centre to have lunch, take in the amazing views and learn a little about life in a lighthouse in years gone by.

This is a unique chance to go ‘off the beaten track’ to see conservation in action and all money raised will go back into giving nature a home in Northern Ireland. Numbers are strictly limited to four people, so reserve your place without delay!

Please book your ferry crossing in advance via www.rathlinballycastleferry.com or by calling 028 2076 9299. We recommend the 10am outward sailing and the 4.15pm return crossing.

Please also bring a packed lunch and wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear in case of inclement weather. Note there are a maximum of four places available on this event and it is not suitable for under 16s.
