Countryside Alliance Award for Island Co-op Shop

Many congratulations to all involved with the Rathlin Co-op Shop, as they receive the Countryside Alliance's 2012 Award for Village Shop.

The award announcement stated that "The shop is definitely part of the community that supports many residents who would struggle otherwise. I fully believe that the Rathlin Co-operative Society Ltd shop should be given the recognition that it fully deserves. Their hard work and fantastic grasp of supporting their local community should not go unseen, so I award them with the Village shop title for Ireland."

This is a great recognition of all the determination and voluntary hard work that has gone into the continued running of the island's shop as a vital community service. Well done all!
