Covid-19 Statement from the Rathlin Nurses

Tuesday 17th March 2020

Statement from the Rathlin Nurses:

"Dear Islanders

As per management it has been agreed that until further notice there will be NO open clinics i.e. 12.00 noon-1.00pm and 4.00pm-5.00pm. This is to enable us to reduce the amount of patient contact.

If you need to be seen by the nurse, please ring the mobile number 07841495875 where your call will then be triaged. If you need a face to face review an appointment time will be issued.

We are still running a 24/7 service but wish to minimise risk amongst the islanders. We also will not be carrying out routine home visits for blood pressures etc. This will enable us to keep our foot fall in private homes to a minimum.

We will deliver medications on alternate days. If you require your medications urgently please ring 07841495875 and arrange a pick up time from the clinic. This again is in an effort to cut down unnecessary contact.

Please be assured there is still a 24 hour nursing service, 9.00am-5.00pm daily and after 5.00pm emergency calls only.

If you feel you have symptoms of COVID-19 – coronavirus: dry persistent cough, temperature or shortness of breath please contact your own GP or Dalriada Urgent Care - if out of hours (02825663502) / NHS DIRECT 111. We cannot refer for testing - this has to go through the GP who will arrange a testing appointment at the Pod in Antrim Area Hospital.

If symptomatic please continue to self-isolate for 14 days and this will protect others around you. The Public Health Agency has up to date information on the latest developments of the Covid-19 virus on their website.

We thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

KEIRA/JACKIE"
