Cross Border Ministerial Visit

The RDCA Committee would like to thank Conor Murphy MP MLA, Minister for Regional Development, and Pat Carey TD, Minister for Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs for visiting the island on Saturday.

The two Ministers have been developing cross-border co-operation in relation to the Irish islands. During the visit the two Ministers discussed potential cross-border projects in relation to Rathlin, including the Small Ferries Project and the renewable energy social enterprise with the RDCA Committee. In his statement, Conor Murphy said 'I welcome this opportunity to meet with Minister Carey on Rathlin to share with him our local experiences about how government can help island communities to maintain and develop island life'.
