Halloween Festival 2013

Monday 4 November 2013

Many thanks to all who were involved in another highly successful Halloween Festival held over the weekend. The ever-popular fireworks display was postponed to Sunday because of the strong winds and heavy rain on Saturday evening, and thanks as ever to John McCurdy and Jonathan Mitchell for the firing of them, and to the island's volunteer Fire Service and Coastguard teams for the safety backup. Thanks to our BIG Lottery funding for financing the food in particular, prepared and served by Patricia McCurdy, Marina McMullan, Shauna Cecil and Jane McVeigh and Broughgammon Farm. Thanks are due to Bertie Currie and Tania-Lee McFaul for organising the Ghost Bus Tour, and to everyone who helped out with the spooky happenings along the way. And last but not least, thanks to McCuaig's Bar for helping towards the music and for hosting so much of the festivities.
