Loughie McQuilkin's Book Launch

Tuesday 10 September 2013

There was a huge turnout on Sunday for the launch of Loughie McQuilkin's book "Rathlin Reminiscences. Its People - Its Stories - Its Places". In the book, Loughie tells of island life and its people, and how life has slowly changed through the years but the island spirit still remains. The book draws on Loughie's well known in-depth knowledge of the island, and his famously good memory.

The book was formally launched by Joe Mahon, presenter of "Lesser Spotted Ulster" who noted that Rathlin was the only place which warrented the focus of two one-hour episodes of the programme - and which featured important contributions from Loughie.

Many congratulations and best wishes to Loughie and to all who were involved in the production of the book, which is an essential purchase for anyone interested in Rathlin's rich social history.
