Model Yacht Championship

This year's model yacht championship was decided last Saturday evening in very grey and damp conditions, with seven boats competing.

The Paddy O'Donnell Cup was the last race, and congratulations to Conor and Cathal who won, to Fergus and Tania who came second, and to Douglas who took third place with one of the two boats he had single-handedly entered! This means that Conor and Cathal win the overall championships, so congratulations to them both.

And of course, many thanks to everyone who helped organise and run the races this season and in previous seasons - in particular to Marina McMullan for all her commitment to the model yacht races.

This year's season had a great upsurge in interest, with all the new boats built with Loughie McQuilkin over the winter, so hopefully this will continue and expand in future seasons. See you all at Ushet next Easter Sunday!
