We have been contacted by Northern Ireland Water, who are concerned that more than the usual amount of water has been used on Rathlin in the last two or three weeks. This is likely due to undetected leaks. They are asking householders on the island to please check for leaks, especially at outside taps, and for farmers to check water tanks in fields. A number of leaks were found and fixed during the summer, and it is hoped that a prompt response now can have the same effect.
