Rathlin App Launched
Wednesday 4th August 2021
The RDCA is delighted to announce the launch of a new app, aimed at serving both the island community and our visitors. This free app is available for both Apple and Android devices. It will be used to help keep Rathlin's residents and visitors as up to date as possible about the services and activities that the island has to offer. It has a dedicated community area for island residents, where we can provide important practical messages about, for example, the water supply, ferry service, doctor's appointments, etc., which not everyone currently gets from the website, social media or physical notices.
We hope that all residents, as well as anyone planning to visit the island, will download and use the app. To access the community-specific messages, Rathlin residents should contact the Resource Centre to receive their login information.
We are still in the early stages of the development of the app, and so we very much welcome feedback from users. The Apple version is available here, and the Android version here. The App has been enabled by a generous grant from the Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland. Thanks are due in particular to Ziya Meral and Jonathan Mitchell for all the time and expertise they have freely given to this project.
