Rathlin Run 2012

It has been announced that this year's Rathlin Run will take place on Saturday 18th August.

The annual event, organised by and in aid of the Belfast Activity Centre, is being expanded this year, with the option for competitors of completing a half marathon course.

The event is well supported on Rathlin, with first aid backup from the island's volunteer Coastguard team, and by community volunteers staffing water stations, etc.

The popular race has been running for many years now, and this year both the traditional 10.8 mile course, and a 13.1 mile half marathon are being offered. The latter includes 'an additional loop towards the East Lighthouse but designed to rejoin the 10.8 miles entrants for a simultaneous finish'. Much more information is available here.
