Rathlin visit of children's entertainer Farmer Jason
Wednesday 13 July 2011
Acclaimed American alt-country singer songwriter Jason Ringenberg will be visiting Rathlin later this month with his 'twin brother' Farmer Jason. Farmer Jason will be playing the Parochial Hall on Thursday 28th July at 2.00.
Farmer Jason is the family music character created by Americana legend and 30-year entertainment industry veteran Jason Ringenberg. As the founder and lead singer of Jason and the Scorchers, Ringenberg was the original pioneer in the early ‘80s movement that combined traditional American roots music with modern high energy rock ‘n’ roll.
Originally from rural Illinois, Jason now lives with his wife and children on a farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee. The Rathlin shows will be Jason's only Irish dates on this tour, and promise to be very memorable. All profits from Farmer Jason's show will be donated to the Rathlin Youth Club. Entry is £2 for kids, £4 for adults with a great value family price of £10 for two adults and two kids.
As his website puts it: "What started out as a simple side project to entertain his own daughters has grown into a worldwide band wagon pulled by a tractor and a singing farmer. You can bet the tractor will keep on rolling. Climb aboard and grab a pitchfork… or a guitar…"
