Alley Cup Model Yacht Race

The first model yacht race of the season was held on Sunday, with a huge turnout attending. This was the first chance to see some of the new boats built over the winter with Loughie McQuilkin.

In all, six boats were in the water, three of them newly-built. Congratulations to Conor and Noel McCurdy who won, Johnny and Bea who took second place, and Douglas and Barbara who came third. Brian and Aoife, whose boat was finished only minutes before the race, came fourth. Loughie's boat and Stephen and Jessica's new boat unfortunately did not finish. The next race, the Marconi Shield will be held on the May Day bank holiday Sunday 2nd May at 2.30, when there will hopefully be even more new boats competing.
