Guesthouse Shield Model Yacht Race

The postponed Guesthouse Shield model yacht race was run on Friday evening in breezy conditions, and with an unexpected twist.

Claiming his first win of the season - while racing on his own - was Douglas Cecil. Douglas's boat came in comfortably ahead of the field, and Brian Teggart looked like coming second until a collision with Fergus's boat just yards from the finish line. This allowed Stephen Ryan and Jessica Bates to get their second second place of the season, and with Brian and Fergus still out of the running, Conor and Noel McCurdy were able to take third place.

Congratulations to them all, and hard luck for Fergus and Brian. This leaves everything to be decided in the last race of the season, the Paddy O'Donnell Cup, which will be held on Saturday 11th September at 7.00.
