Ministerial visit postponed - update

DRD Minister, Danny Kennedy MLA, in a phone call to Noel McCurdy, RDCA Chair, explained that in view of the recent boating accident that took the life of the well-loved and respected Islander, Johnny Curry, the Minister did not feel it appropriate to go ahead with his visit to Rathlin, planned for Tuesday 5th July.

The Minister, respecting the community’s need for privacy and time to pay attention to this devastating event, extended his heartfelt condolences to Catriona and Kevin Blaney and their sons, Ronan and Aidan, to the extended Curry family and to the wider Rathlin community and friends who mourn their loss.

The Minister’s visit will be re-scheduled for a date later this year.
