New Wi-Fi in the Richard Branson Centre

The RDCA, after experimenting with a satellite service from Avonline, has now gone with a phoneline business service from PlusNet for the Richard Branson Centre. This service is working well so far, with download speeds of 55.91 Mb/s and upload speeds of 8.31 Mb/s being recorded.

We have been told by BT, after a long period of trying to get services ourselves, and of trying to get information from them, that they are not currently planning on providing high speed services to business accounts on Rathlin.

Island residents who are interested in using the broadband for business or other work purposes are welcome to try it out - let us know in the Resource Centre. A small charge will be levied for such uses.
