RDCA 2012 AGM
Friday 27 April 2012
The RDCA's Annual General Meeting was held last night in the Parochial Hall.
Apologies for the meeting were given from Committee members Patricia McCurdy and Marina McMullan.
The minutes of the previous AGM were adopted, the formalities of the nomination of Committee members were made, and the amendments to the Constitution to allow for the changes to the voting system (voted on last November) were formally adopted. Noel McCurdy and Patricia McCurdy were re-nominated to the Committee, with Tom McDonnell joining for the first time. Richard Green stood down from the Committee after many year's service, and a presentation was made to him in thanks.
The Chair's report on the year's activities highlighted some of the many aspects of a very busy year, and were very ably augmented by reports from Aoife Molloy on the youth group, Tom McDonnell on the photography group, Marianne Green on the powerboat training, Judy McCurdy on the quilts and arpilleras, Helen O'Halloran on the school's activities with the community, and Kay McCurdy on the decades boards project.
One of the most important aspects of the meeting was Michael Cecil's presentation on the renewable energy project, and the formal adoption by a large majority of a mandate to use RDCA funds for the project, specifically the preparations for the planning application for the wind turbine.
In the Committee meeting held immediately after the AGM, Noel McCurdy stood down from the officer board, and was replaced as Chair by Michael Cecil. Patricia McCurdy became Vice Chair, Fergus McFaul became Secretary, and Ksenia Zywczuk became Treasurer.
