RDCA Trip to Gigha

Wednesday 3 February 2010

Michael Cecil and Margaret McQuilkin of the RDCA Committee, accompanied by Community Development Worker David Quinney Mee and social enterprise advisor Nigel Flynn travelled to the island of Gigha in Argyll yesterday to examine how the island runs its social enterprise renewable energy scheme.

The visit was very worthwhile, with important contacts made, and valuable insights and information gained. The group visited Gigha's 'Dancing Ladies' - their wind turbines, and the trip will contribute to the development of Rathlin's own renewable energy project.
