RDCA voting procedure meeting

Monday 19 September 2011

Thanks to those who came along to the meeting on voting procedures last week, and others who sent in apologies. There were not enough people present for a decision on the method to be made but all agreed to the following:

There will be a ballot box in the Resource Centre for some hours over two days in October (date to be chosen shortly). There will also be an option of a postal vote if this is requested in writing beforehand. (It will not be necessary to give a reason for requesting a postal vote.) Residents will be asked to register a single vote against one of the options on the voting papers. There will be four options to choose between, the three that were distributed for consideration recently, with the fourth being the method that was used last, at this year’s AGM. Residents will also be asked to tick a box on the paper if you are willing to accept this process for future ballots (ie a couple of days with a ballot box and the option of a postal vote).
