Visit of MDC Councillors

Councillors from the Ballycastle electoral district will be visiting the island next Tuesday 19th July for a 'walk-in' surgery. They will be in the Parochial Hall from 10.30 to 12.00, for any residents' questions and issues. No appointment necessary, just call in. The five councillors representing the area are: Joan Baird (UUP), Seamus Blaney (Ind.), Dónal Cunningham (SDLP), Cara McShane (Sinn Féin), and Padraig McShane (Ind.)

Public Art Consultation Postponement

This evening's Moyle District Council meeting about the proposed public art for the Church Bay area has been postponed due to bad weather. It is planned to hold the consultation from 10.00 to 3.00 tomorrow in the Richard Branson Centre. The artist will be available to talk to island residents about the proposed work.


Commission of Public Art at Ballycastle Seafront and Rathlin Island Foreshore

Moyle District Council wishes to commission an outstanding artist to design and arrange the production, delivery and installation of two pieces of public art to be located at Ballycastle Seafront and Rathlin Island Foreshore as part of the Causeway Coastal Route Interpretation which aims to market the route as a ‘world class experience’.

Moyle District Council has anounced an artist will be appointed to produce a piece of public art for the Rathlin harbour. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by January 2011. 'Pre-Qualification Response' documents must be submitted to the Council by Friday 16th April. More information is available here.


Consultations with Moyle DC and the DRD

The RDCA will be holding meetings with the Department of Regional Development (DRD) this Friday 27th November about the ferry service, and with Moyle District Council and the DRD on Monday 30th November about the proposed harbour bye-laws. If you have any points or questions that you would like the RDCA to raise with these bodies, then please contact us before the meetings.
