No-one on the Island has up to date training to operate the council bin lorry so it can't be used. The council are happy for Stewart (Thanks Stewart) to use the cage lorry door to door for Black and Blue bins (mixed is acceptable).
If people want to continue recycling then bins will be available at the harbour to stockpile that material once their own bin is full, people will have to take their own blue waste to the harbour.
Further to discussions with all parties involved and in the interests of public health, the well being of our staff and the Island residents, RIFL have decided to escalate our travel restrictions with effect from Midnight Monday night 23rd March 2020.
RIFL continue to work closely with their staff on a daily basis trying our best to support you all as a community. Our number one priority is to keep ourselves and the Island safe and well during these uncertain times. We have had to reconsider our recent commitment (text message sent Wednesday 18th March) to delivering all parcels due to safety of our staff and indeed yourselves.
The Resource Centre is shut until further notice. If you have an urgent query please email us on rdcaoffice@gmail.com, or contact Stephen or a Committee member, and...
As per management it has been agreed that until further notice there will be NO open clinics i.e. 12.00 noon-1.00pm and 4.00pm-5.00pm. This is to enable us to reduce the amount of patient contact.
If you need to be seen by the nurse, please ring the mobile number 07841495875 where your call will then be triaged. If you need a face to face review an appointment time will be issued.
Statement from the Rathlin Development and Community Association on Covid-19
Following the Covid-19 pandemic and the approaches being taken internationally to prevent the spread of the virus, the Rathlin Development and Community Association (RDCA) has consulted with the residents of Rathlin Island to come to a consensus on the best approach to take to protect the island community as a whole.
Derek Kyle passed away on Tuesday 3rd March. Derek will be brought to the island on the 10.30 Spirit of Rathlin sailing tomorrow, Friday 6th March, with Requiem Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 12.00 noon, and interment afterwards in St.Thomas's Church Cemetery.
Our sincere condolences to Dolores and to the whole family.
