The RDCA committee, office staff and island community are deeply saddened to hear the news that Lucia Quinney Mee, beloved daughter of David and Rachel, and sister of Alice, has passed away in King's Hospital, London.

Rathlin Harbour and Covid-19

Wednesday 1st April 2020

For compliance with Government legislation to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus by stopping non-essential travel, it is considered necessary to close Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s harbours and marinas to all leisure operations with immediate effect.

RNLI lifeboats and the Rathlin Ferry will still operate as required.

The trustees of the RDCA have taken what we hope will be seen as a sensible decision to postpone this years AGM until later in the year. We understand the meeting is overdue but hope everyone understands given the current situation.

All usual AGM business is postponed until that later time including nominations and potential elections for those wishing to join the board.

Update on Waste Collections

Waste Collections on Rathlin

No-one on the Island has up to date training to operate the council bin lorry so it can't be used. The council are happy for Stewart (Thanks Stewart) to use the cage lorry door to door for Black and Blue bins (mixed is acceptable).

If people want to continue recycling then bins will be available at the harbour to stockpile that material once their own bin is full, people will have to take their own blue waste to the harbour.

Further to discussions with all parties involved and in the interests of public health, the well being of our staff and the Island residents, RIFL have decided to escalate our travel restrictions with effect from Midnight Monday night 23rd March 2020.
