The family of the late Sonia Soo Hoo, including her husband Michael Black and their daughters Ciara, Maeve and Catriona - well known to all on Rathlin - have requested that donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Rathlin's Tuesday Club, care of the Rathlin Development & Community Association (RDCA).

Arranmore Tragedy

It is with deep shock and sadness that we learned of the untimely death on Sunday morning of 26-year old Leigh Early, a skipper on the Arranmore Ferry and volunteer on the island’s lifeboat. From the Rathlin Island family, we add our sincere condolences to those of countless others and offer our thoughts and prayers for Leigh’s family, his friends and his community.

Seabird Centre Jobs Advertised

The Last Right

The Irish comedy drama, The Last Right which was partly shot on Rathlin in December 2018 will be released across Ireland on Friday 6th December.

Bin Lorry Mechanical Problem

The bin lorry has a mechanical problem today, and has had to stop collecting the bins. It is hoped that the black bin collection will be completed later this week. We'll update as soon as we hear more.

NIW Works Disruption

NI Water have informed the RDCA of work taking place at the borehole site on Rathlin as part of NI Water upgrades to the water supply on the island.

“We wanted to let you know of the work which is proposed for this week which may cause some disruption to the island. Part of this work involves the construction of a new main, which runs along the road from the borehole site to the area in front of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

Gas Engineers On The Island

"1st For Gas" Engineers will be on the island on Tuesday 24th September (and possibly Wednesday 25th) for any repairs or inspections that people might need. Please contact them on 028 2766 8652 to book an appointment

Cleaning Service Available

Classic Cleaning from Ballymoney were over doing some work on the Richard Branson Centre, and they're willing to come back over for more work this autumn, such as window cleaning (inside and out), guttering, etc. if they have enough work.
