The Rathlin Co-op Shop has just started a new initiative to help keep Rathlin's beaches clean: "From now until the end of the summer we are inviting people to pop into the shop to collect a bucket, collect some rubbish from the beach & then collect your free hot drink." Grab a bucket, get filling and enjoy your cuppa at the shop!

As many of you know, we have a limited supply of DVDs of the "An Sgoth. From Tree to Sea" documentary that was shown on the island during the Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival a couple of years ago. They are available for a suggested donation of £10 from the Resource Centre. A clip of the film is available here. Buy now to avoid disappointment!

The Traditional Yawl & Drontheim Society has published its 2019 Programme, which includes the second weekend of the Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival on Rathlin, and a number of other events on the mainland that might be of interest to those on the island.

TV Aerial Repairs

Michael Quinn, TV aerial and satellite specialist is visiting Rathlin this Sunday 13 January, weather permitting. If anyone else on the island needs him for any work, and would like to split the travel costs, please contact Margaret.

Following the very sad passing of Sadie McFaul, her family have put forward the following message.

Sadie McFaul (nee McQuilkin) RIP

Margaret, John and Jennifer wish to express their sincere gratitude to all who sympathised with them and provided support at the time of Sadie’s death. Heartfelt thanks to our friends and fellow islanders who came together to help, to those who travelled to attend the wake and funeral, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters and telephoned.

Sadie McFaul Funeral Arrangements

Sadie will return to Rathlin on Wednesday 26th December on the 10.30 Spirit of Rathlin sailing. After reposing at home, she will be brought to the chapel at 1.30pm on Thursday 27th, with the funeral mass being held at 12.00 noon on Friday 28th. RIP.

Sadie McFaul passed away last night. Our sincere condolences to John, Jennifer, Margaret and the extended family circle. We will give an update on the funeral arrangements as soon as possible. May she rest in peace.
