Geraldine is very touched and grateful to everyone who supported "Tea and Buns for Otters" on Saturday. A whopping £80.55 was raised to support otter conservation worldwide by the International Otter Survival Fund.

Big thank you to Tania and Yvonne and Stephen and David who did lots to make it happen. Special thank you also to all the kids who came, made brilliant pictures and added extra fun to make it so successful.

Rathlin residents received a special visit from the Gruffalo last week. His first island appearance was in St Mary’s Primary School where eight very surprised pupils gave him a warm and enthusiastic welcome. He seemed to be as big a hit with the teaching staff as with the children.

Tourism NI staff will be on the island on Thursday 14 April to offer forty five minute one-to-one 'stakeholder clinics' for anyone on the island involved with the tourist industry. Please contact the Resource Centre as soon as possible to book a slot.

The Northern Ireland Marine Task Force Roadshow will be in Ballycastle this Friday 22nd January to discuss the proposed Marine Conservation Zones that include the waters around Rathlin.

We have a limited number of places available for Rathlin residents for a welding training course. The one day course will be held over Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th January (trainees will use one or other of the two days). Cost is £30, and the course will take place on the island, venue to be confirmed. Please contact the Resource Centre as soon as possible to book your place.
