Ambrose Armstrong passed away earlier today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time. The funeral will be held at 12.00 noon on Thursday 24th November in St Patrick's Church of Ireland, Cairncastle Co Antrim, followed by tea and coffee at the Masonic Lodge, Larne. Anyone wishing to send on cards can pass them to Suzy McKirdy who will bring them to the family.

The RSPB has advertised for two Visitor Experience Officer posts for the West Light Seabird Centre for next season. The deadline is Friday 25th November, with interviews being held on Tuesday 6th December. More details here.

All are welcome to attend a service to celebrate the life of Bess Cameron. This will take place on Tuesday 25th October 2016 in St. Thomas' Church, Rathlin Island at 11.45am. Everyone is welcome to join us afterwards in McCuaig's Bar for refreshment at 1pm

The following message has been received from Bess's family.

Bess Cameron RIP
Lesley and Victoria wish to thank the Islanders for the love and support given to us at such a difficult time. This was the place our mother loved, amongst dear friends.

The cremation will take place on Tuesday 11th October at 1.30. There will also be a service of remembrance at St Thomas's Church on Tuesday 25th October, to which you will all be made very welcome.

Thank you so sincerely for everything.
