There was a tremendous turnout for the postponed Kinramer Trophy model yacht race yesterday evening, with nine boats competing - the largest number of racers in many years.

The Kinramer Trophy model yacht race was postponed on Sunday because of lack of wind, and will now be held on Thursday 22nd July at 6.30 at Ushet Lough.

The Festival Week raft race has been postponed, and will now be held next Tuesday 20th July at 2.00.

This year's raft race will now be held this Thursday, 15th July at 3.00 from the Station Pier. Four crew per raft, and the junior category is for 16 year olds and younger. Good luck to all the competitors!

'First Responder' Training

Dalriada Urgent Care facilitators gave the first day of training to volunteer 'First Responders' from Rathlin last week. Nine people received initial training in emergency CPR and the use of defibrillators, with two more to be trained on a second date.

New Rathlin Book in Preparation

Philip Watson has been visiting Rathlin for 50 years. Since 1960 he has worked on the island on bird migration, fisheries research, wildlife and conservation, seabird censuses, with RSPB and the National Trust and was, for a period with NI 2000, slightly involved with the Manor House restoration.

Commission of Public Art at Ballycastle Seafront and Rathlin Island Foreshore

Moyle District Council wishes to commission an outstanding artist to design and arrange the production, delivery and installation of two pieces of public art to be located at Ballycastle Seafront and Rathlin Island Foreshore as part of the Causeway Coastal Route Interpretation which aims to market the route as a ‘world class experience’.
