There will be a public meeting of the Rathlin Island Co-op, tomorrow evening, Friday 9th April at 8.oo in the Resource Centre. All are welcome to come along.
The first model yacht race of the season was held on Sunday, with a huge turnout attending. This was the first chance to see some of the new boats built over the winter with Loughie McQuilkin.
The National Trust has provided the RDCA with plans for the proposed renovation of the Tithe Barn. It is intended to provide 'affordable accommodation for local people, and to support local business'. There will also be a new centre for the island's nurses. The plans are available for public viewing in the Resource Centre, and the National Trust are looking for comments from island residents.
A chimney sweep will be working on the island on Wednesday 7th April. If anyone is interested in getting their chimney swept, please contact Margaret or Shauna.
The Moyle District Council Chairperson and Ballycastle Chamber of Commerce are hosting a May Day Gala Ball in the Marine Hotel, Ballycastle in aid of the RISE Foundation.
The first race of the new season will be on Easter Sunday, 4th April at 2.00, Ushet Lough. This will be the first try-out for the new generation of boats built under Loughie McQuilkin's supervision over the winter (see the series of galleries for more information), so come along and see how they fare!.
There was a huge turnout in Bruce's Kitchen on Friday to bid a fond farewell to Nicola McGlinchey, who has ably served the island community for the last few years.
