Emma's Chip Ahoy

Congratulations to Emma McFaul who received planning permission to convert the basement of the family home into the new Chip Ahoy. The work will begin soon, and hopefully will be open in time for the new tourist season. So yesterday was the last day of opening for the old van pictured above. Good luck with the new premises!


Rural Development Programme Information

Andrew McAllister of the North East Region of the Rural Development Programme came to the island yesterday to provide information for potential applicants. The information session was well attended and very useful, and information packs are available in the Resource Centre for anyone else who is interested. Many thanks to Andrew for coming over.


RDCA Revised Constitution Meeting

The public meeting to adopt the revised constitution of the RDCA will be held next Thursday 14th October in the Parochial Hall at 7.30. All members of the RDCA are welcome.


Public Art Meeting

There was a very well attended meeting at short notice this morning about the proposed public art project, with 23 island residents coming to the Richard Branson Centre.

The deadline for the RDCA's 2010 Amateur Photographic Competition passed last week.

Public Art Consultation Postponement

This evening's Moyle District Council meeting about the proposed public art for the Church Bay area has been postponed due to bad weather. It is planned to hold the consultation from 10.00 to 3.00 tomorrow in the Richard Branson Centre. The artist will be available to talk to island residents about the proposed work.
