Kitty McCurdy RIP

The Rathlin community is also mourning the sudden and unexpected passing of Kitty McCurdy.

Kitty died at home on Thursday morning and her funeral Mass will be held on Sunday, 16th October at 12 midday. We express our sincere condolences to all of Kitty's family and friends.

Charlie McCurdy RIP

After some time in hospital, Charlie McCurdy passed away last night.

Charlie will be brought back to the island on the 10.30 Canna tomorrow Friday 14th, and on to the Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 12.00 on Saturday 15th. Our sincere condolences go to Danny, David, Jean and family, and to all of Charlie's friends.

Rathlin First Responders Recruiting

The First Responders team on the island are recruiting again. Supported by the HSC and Dalriada Urgent Care, the team of local volunteers are highly trained in CPR and in particular in the use of defibrillators. If anyone is interested in getting involved, and receiving the free training, please contact the Resource Centre.

Flu vaccinations

Dr Nawaz will be visiting the island on Wednesday 5th October, and will be available in the clinic in the Manor House from 9.10am to 11.45am. The flu vaccination will be available.

Gigha wind turbine meeting

John Martin, a director from Gigha Renewable Energy Ltd came to Rathlin on Saturday 17th September (complete with kilt in Gigha tartan!) and met with 16 residents to tell the story of the wind turbine project on our neighbouring island.
