The Rathlin Drama Group will be bringing this year's very successful productions of 'The End of the Beginning', and 'The Corner Shop' to Carey Hall on Sunday 21st August at 8.00pm. Tickets are £5 adults, £3 children. All welcome!

Don't forget - with all this beautiful weather - the third annual Rathlin Amateur Photographic Competition is ongoing, with a closing date of Friday 30th September 2011.
Councillors from the Ballycastle electoral district will be visiting the island next Tuesday 19th July for a 'walk-in' surgery. They will be in the Parochial Hall from 10.30 to 12.00, for any residents' questions and issues. No appointment necessary, just call in. The five councillors representing the area are: Joan Baird (UUP), Seamus Blaney (Ind.), Dónal Cunningham (SDLP), Cara McShane (Sinn Féin), and Padraig McShane (Ind.)
Acclaimed American alt-country singer songwriter Jason Ringenberg will be visiting Rathlin later this month with his 'twin brother' Farmer Jason. Farmer Jason will be playing the Parochial Hall on Thursday 28th July at 2.00.

DRD Minister, Danny Kennedy MLA, in a phone call to Noel McCurdy, RDCA Chair, explained that in view of the recent boating accident that took the life of the well-loved and respected Islander, Johnny Curry, the Minister did not feel it appropriate to go ahead with his visit to Rathlin, planned for Tuesday 5th July.
The Rathlin Island community and the wider community beyond our shores are deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the untimely death yesterday of Islander Johnny Curry. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends.
